Skate Fitting

THE PROCESS

Your skates are the most important piece of equipment you wear. Surprisingly, many hockey players and figure skaters sacrifice how comfortable their skates feel. Our unique skate fitting approach eliminates pressure points and reduces negative space in key areas, ensuring a perfect fit.

Experiencing pressure points and general discomfort is very common, especially with new skates. It is also something that can be quickly eliminated by using proper skate fitting tools and know-how. Our skate fitting machine and boot alteration tools help us address those sore spots you may be exeriencing.

Reducing negative space in your skates plays an important role in helping you achieve sufficient energy transfer during each stride, turn, or jump. Our skate fitting machine helps wrap the top and sides of the skates and heel. This provides a snug, more supportive fit that helps support all 26 bones in your foot.

HOW IT WORKS

We start the molding process with our skate oven. Our skate fitting oven safely softens the materials, making them more malleable for effective pressure fitting. After the skates are done in the oven, we lace them on your feet and prepare them for the pressure fitting machine. Skate tying can be a very quick, simple process but there is a specific way skates should be tied for the most effective fitting results. Next, you put your feet into the machine to begin the pressurizing fitting process. The air bladders in the machine quickly fill up and wrap the skates around your feet, holding them in place for 10-minutes. During this time the skates come to a slow cool to hold their shape. When the bladders deflate and you remove your feet, you will immediately notice better wrap around the top eyelet area of your skates.
